General Description
The SS8016 module is a Modbus TCP server unit that can convert up to 4 analog signals applied to the input into engineering units in digital format. The inputs can be connected to sensors with mV output or to thermocouples. The input channels are electrically isolated from each other. The device guarantees high accuracy and measurement stability with respect to time and temperature. To ensure plant safety, the device is equipped with a Watch-Dog Timer system. The Ethernet interface allows real-time reading and writing of the values of the device's internal registers. LEDs signaling Ethernet activity and power supply allow direct monitoring of system functionality. The built-in SS8016 web server allows remote visualization, acquisition of the analog inputs and access to the main Ethernet programming parameters. Connection is made using removable screw terminals (inputs and power supply) and an RJ45 connector (Ethernet). The SS8016 device provides complete electrical isolation between the lines, introducing valid protection against the effects of any ground loops that may exist in industrial applications. The device is housed in a rugged self-extinguishing plastic enclosure which, thanks to its slim profile of only 22.5 mm, allows high-density mounting on a standard EN-50022 DIN rail.
